and the days FLY by...

sooooo happy that to be promoting reiki & raw foods in my community... had reiki clients both yesterday and today and am inviting the universe to send more as the days go by. Put in another large raw food bulk order with the local peeps and again, am really inviting more people interested in raw food to come into my sphere as we move forward. I'm promoting the bulk orders, raw food coaching and classes as well as wheatgrass and flax crackers and other "prepared" items. hoping that my passions will ignite passion in others, and will financially support us.

if you're interested in reiki, you can email me at sookereiki@gmail.com
if you're interested in raw foods (coaching, classes, bulk food orders, etc) you can contact me at rawfoodsooke@gmail.com

ds tested for his yellow belt in aikido last night and passed! he's soooo happy and we are all soooooo proud of him! 15 months, over 100 hours of classes and he's DONE it! as a homeschooler he doesn't often find himself in "testing" situations, so was understandably anxious, but did VERY well last night. just so so proud of him!

that's all for now. i've got to get the kids' weekly reports done before we head off to a class in less than an hour.

OH but before i go, i also want to say how grateful i am and how happy we all are to be getting a FREE trampoline off the used local websites. dh is picking it up as we speak! happy happy joy joy!!! the kids' bf's are moving in a matter of days, taking their trampoline with them, and i know both kids are going to be devastated at not having their bfs right next door anymore. this is their first experience with friends moving away and they have been rather unseparable the past several months. so with everything going on in the neighbourhood as of late a trampoline of their own would be a welcome distraction come month's end.

full of gratitude, feeling calm and happy,

HAPPY EQUINOX!!!!

LOOOOOOOOVE that we're celebrating Equinox this weekend... the moving towards light, towards summer... I absolutely LOVE spring. New growth on plants, baby lambs romping through the fields, daffodils and birdsong at dawn. It all just calls me forth outside, which is soooooo much appreciated after winter (if you can even call what we just had winter; it was hardly a typical winter in terms of weather - far drier and warmer than normal). Nonetheless, let's celebrate Equinox this weekend! WAHOOOOOOO!!!!

i slept "normally" for the first time last night in almost a week. it was nice; rejuvenative 'though I still awoke twice briefly during the night. What was super nice was getting up at 7ish instead of closer to 10. That's a bit late in the morning for me. I enjoy waking up, listening to the morning songs of the many spring birds, waking up before the children, having those morning hours to soak in Reiki and set a peaceful loving intention for the day.

And it was a busy day. ds is nearing his belt test for aikido and was asked to come in for extra training with Sensei. he's *super* anxious about the belt test (to the point of tears) which is possibly going to happen Monday evening. So if you're able to, sending him calm vibes (& some reiki) between 6 & 7 will help tremendously. Hopefully he just remembers to breeeeeeathe. :) We had a bit of a son-mama day, getting several errands done around town. He got a super-cute haircut, and we picked up more blanket material for dd. I'm very grateful to have had the time with him today - it's nice to just hang alone with him sometimes. I got to thinking that if he takes this belt test Monday we ought to do something nice for him - some treat just for him. Not sure that we can afford a meal out, but we ought to do something. I'll have to talk to dh & come up with an idea. He's worked hard for the past 15 months towards this step; it's a big accomplishment.

I began reading the kids a couple Beverly Cleary books at piano lessons the other day. To dd I started reading "Beezus & Ramona" and to ds "Henry Huggins". I like that the characters mix between the books; in Beezus & Ramona Henry and his dog Ribsy come to play checkers at the girls' house one day. We're also in the midst of reading Enid Blyton's "The Strange Ruby" or something like that, which is also very enjoyable. But what I'm most looking forward this week are my interlibrary loans of books 4, 5 & 6 from the Ringing Cedars series arriving. More Anastasia! YAY!!!

Has anyone heard anything about the Alice in Wonderland movie that's in theatres right now? Is it appropriate for 6 yr olds? I've heard it's more appropriate for the 9 yr old than the 6 yr old. What about the Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Also geared more for the 9 yr old? But if you've seen it (or know someone who has), would it be appropriate for a 6 yr old? I have enjoyed taking the kids to the Veggietales movies that have come into theatres in the past (not because of the Christian biblical messages, but more for the moral and ethical messages; they're movies with VALUES). I think the last movie we saw was Disney Earth (the National Geographic/documentary style movie); we don't go often to the theatre - maybe once a year. So I want to make our annual trip worthwhile. ;)

new moon, new moon, what do you bring...

Check it out - there's a new moon right-about-now-ish. I'm really still trying to assimilate the Gregg Braden videos I've watched lately as well as the first three Anastasia books from Vladimir Megre... feeling deeply spiritual and reflective and introspective. Also darn tired from the time change (and staying out late on the weekend - I'm no spring chicken!)...

Thinking about acknowledging and releasing unconscious patterns that are holding me back from further growth... About living a life of giving, of compassion, of selflessness... Asking to remain conscious of the interconnectedness of all life, to see the divine nature of all beings around me, to hear and open receive the message they have to share... to bless and feel grateful for all, including the seemingly challenging situations... to truly bless them. After all, in accordance with the divine nature of life, everything is unfolding as it should. When I read the bit about 'staying aware of our impact on other's around us; they have their own issues they're dealing with,' that resonated with me. It's about respecting one another's boundaries, and in the past week or so I've seen that not happen a couple times - blatant disregard for the person they bulldozed. Not good. I've been thinking about creative expression and the myriad of outlets for our imaginative ideas in our lives. There are probably as many ways of expressing one's creativity as there are people on the planet!

Blessings to all of you as we pass through the dark nights of the new moon this month!
I honour the divine truth within both you and I,
~n~

Earth Shifts?

I watched a movie series this week - Awakening to Zero Point by Gregg Braden - which was really intellectually stimulating, whether you choose to agree or disagree with the theory presented.

Basically, (forgive me if I summarize this wrong) earth has a electromagnetic "pulse" which is in alignment or connected to the same thing from our sun, which gets its signal from the "sun" of the milky way galaxy. And our hearts get their electro-magnetic frequency from the Earth. So it's our cells - heart - earth - sun - galaxy sun... Years back, scientists apparently picked up a change in the galaxy's sun's frequency - an increase in frequency, which is trickling down that connection - our sun, our earth, our hearts (essentially, as i understood it). Not only this, but the theory continues that our sun has for some time had its magnetic field decreasing, as has our earth now. So we have decreasing magnetic field coupled with increasing frequency. Throughout the previous billions of years on earth there have been times where the north-south poles have actually reversed - with the implication being that the earth actually comes to a complete stop and starts rotating the opposite direction. In the time that it is stopped, half the earth (facing the sun) has a long day (the sun rises in the east, sets in the west, rises in the west, sets in the east) and the side facing away from the sun has a long night (3 days' worth). hope this is all making some kinda sense. The point where rotation stops is what Gregg Braden calls "zero point".

The similarity for me here with the anastasia books is actually rather profound. Anastasia talks about us on earth currently going through the 'dark forces window of time' and how love and compassion will pull us through. so says gregg braden - compassion and love - selfless giving the way Mother Theresa, Ghandi or Christ embodied is something we are ALL capable of and if critical masses of people choose to live a life like that, we can pull through... evolve to a higher consciousness, to a purity of thought currently uncommon.

Gregg also talked about resurrection - not death, but resurrection (two different things). The body currently has only 20 of the possible 64 amino acid sequences of combinations activated. If we can activate the others (and he shows how love activates more combinations b/c it has a higher vibratory frequency than fear), is it possible this is what the Mayans did en masse? He posits evidence such as mandala-like symbols that are burned into granite and such - not from a laser which would likely have caused cracking, but more from an internal heat source unlike that of which we know today... or the shroud that Christ was said to have worn at the time of his burial, which is burned with the image of a man - burned from within the shroud, the shroud still being in tact.

Did the ancients, did our forefathers and mothers, have access to information that we have lost today? Anastasia talks about her foremother who had the knowledge of what mothers should think about while breastfeeding their children - reading this was profound for me. I extended nursed and it was a beautiful, healthy connection between my children & I. What other information and knowledge have we lost through the ages? Anastasia talks about the importance of breastfeeding, of child rearing, of living with a deep connection and reverence with Nature. Oh, how disconnected we are, living in our airtight homes with technological 'advances', we're so 'advanced', 'civilized'... but we don't even take the time to think critically about matters. We're (as a general social group) numb, living day to day in our clockwork lives - little cogs in the wheel of the technocractic world we've created for ourselves, paying off mortgages and consumer debt. Consume, consume, consume... For WHAT?! At some deep level do we not sense that we're chasing the wrong dream? That we're pacifying ourselves with tv and alcohol and so forth when what we're really craving is a life that is worth living, a life that truly matters? And if we aren't created as divine beings and dishonouring that by living a numbed-out life, I mean... have we completely forgotten our divine essence? Our spiritual source? How do we reconnect? (adds little voice: raw vegan living foods seem to bring me clarity and connection, as does being surrounded by Nature, also striving to embody Love and Compassion in every thought and action I have... what about you? what makes you feel connected to Spirit?)

I'm also finding some sites out there dispelling gregg braden as a fraud. As Anastasia says, I believe for those who believe in me. For people who doubt my existence, nothing I can do will change their mind. Isn't that true - sometimes blind faith is needed. If a cyclist passes you quickly, you know the wheel has spokes, yet you can't see the individual spokes. If the cyclist slows down enough that you can see the individual spokes, the cyclist may fall off the bike, in which case he/she ceases to become a cyclist in action, in motion. So the cyclist cycles past and you have to have faith that the spokes exist, even though you cannot see them. This analogy is given in one of the Anastasia books and it really is a great way of seeing what faith is about.

Hope you have a great weekend, and you find yourself intellectually awakened by this post! Please do share your comments!

a SPRING in your step...

i was just reflecting on our past week...

one thing we were checking out was www.tumbleweedhouses.com - very well-designed small, mobile houses. my son *LOVES* the idea of travelling with your house-on-wheels. he's all about travelling and all about small spaces. i can totally see him building on of these as a teen and young adult. we also really enjoyed checking out the Happy Janssens, a family that travels in their veggie-oil powered RV.

I've been reading the Anastasia series of books aloud to the kids. For those who think kids aren't mature enough to handle 'big' concepts, think again. My kids are 9 & 6 and while the 6 year old thinks of the books more in terms of how it relates to playing fairies (Anastasia's like a fairy princess to her), the 9 yr old is TOTALLY able to grasp big philosophical, spiritual concepts that are contemplated in the books.

we spent an afternoon at the beach with the local homeschooling families (11 kids in all) - the little girls built driftwood houses for their dollies and stuffies and the boys and older girls worked on human-sized driftwood forts. i tell ya, this spring sunshine has been soooooo wonderful!

the kids and i also played in the garden. dd & i played fairies while we planted seeds. the kids cared for their fruit trees and just loved being outdoors in nature. we are so very blessed here with the natural beauty of our surroundings.

i'd love to write more, but i really need to get out there and enjoy the sunshine today!
*BLISS*ings to you this day,
Namaste

LOVIN' the sun!

beeeeeeeeautiful sunshine here lately. blogger's been giving me grief on my laptop; i haven't beem able to access anything blogger-ish on it and i'm not sure why. but i'm circumvented the problem by using another computer at another location. muwahahaha.

yes, it's a beautiful sunny spring day. i'm inside doing some bookkeeping; wishing i was outside (but i'll enjoy having a few bucks in my pocket, too!). i'm getting ready for the upcoming local spring craft fair in a couple weeks. i'm offering some raw foods: kale chips, banana chips, apple rings, raw oatmeal cookies and a few kinds of flax crackers, as well as trail mix and a few other assorted things. so we're in high dehydration prep mode this week, churning out all kinds of goodies. one of my neighbours is going to hire me as a raw food coach for her and her teenage daughter as they incorporate more raw foods. i'm soooooooo excited (and honoured!).

today is the women's wellness night in town and i'm going to be offering Reiki there - mini 15 min sessions. i'm looking forward to it. it'll be a gift to me, 4 hrs of Reiki! :D

but now i have to get back to work.

NAMASTE!

Wheatgrass

I juiced an entire tray of wheatgrass today. The house smelled DELICIOUS! I *love* the smell of wheatgrass. I froze the juice in ice-cube trays... one ounce blocks. Now I can throw a frozen ounce into a green smoothie I'm good to go! (or thaw it out and shoot it back, but I'm really not overly partial to straight wheatgrass often; get lightheaded from it occasionally) I gave the tray's soil & clippings to the hens and oh my, they went NUTS over it. cluck cluck clucking in happiness. Then i realized: their organic scratch that I give them each day is barley/wheat... then I thought: why can't I grow trays of scratch and juice THAT?! I suddenly realized what a bargain their bags of organic scratch are!!! Suddenly I'm really excited with the amount of seed I have that I can start sprouting!!!! LOL

and omGOODNESS if you haven't looked at Vladimir Megre's Ringing Cedars series, you are SOOOOOOO missing out. This week through interlibrary loans I got books 2 & 3 and read the first three books in the series in less than 60 consecutive hours. wow wow WOW! I am blown away by Anastasia's profound wisdom on parenting, breastfeeding, education, on living as One with Nature, on sexuality, co-creation, on THINKING.... it goes on and on. It's invigorating. Reading the books is like coming Home. It resonates at such a deep level within. I just looooooooove them.

My daughter & I played in the garden yesterday... it's fenced in with poly over the top to create a kind of greenhouse... we played fairy sisters in the garden while I weeded and planted seeds. it was so sweet. After planting, we sat in the garden reading together. It was a very special afternoon. :)

I guess that's all I have to share right now. Have a restful evening. ;)
