happy holidays!

just a quick note to say happy holidays and especially happy new year as we transition from 2011 to 2012! I'm sooooooo looking forward to the new year and the fresh beginning it brings (although any day could be that fresh beginning if we choose it to be)... I've been thinking a *lot* about changes and just what I'd like to see manifest in my life in 2012:

first and foremost, a job closer to home for dh (not so much a traditional new years resolution as a hope/wish)
secondly, our current house on the market and ideally, sold.
third, a commitment on my part to eating 100% raw.
fourth, another commitment on my part to exercising regularly.
fifth, i'm playing with the idea of either fasting every weekend (fri 9 pm to mon 9 am) or else the first week of each month... one or the other.

there are other ideas floating around; we'll see if they become clearer...

how about you? any plans/goals/promises-to-Self you're considering for the new year?

To Your Health in 2012,

my magic disappearing act

where have i gone the past few weeks? nowhere. lol. it's the highspeed. night after night, the children go to bed and i say to myself "i'm just going to do a few errands on the computer" and next thing you know it's seriously the middle of the night and i'm AMAZED at how many 'errands' i have been procrasting on. Not to mention, switching from dial-up to high-speed and changing primary email accts has been like moving house. And I have not physically moved house in a VERY long time. it's unbelievable just how many things are linked to my email... things I need to update. And yes, it's also astounding at how many "errands" one can actually complete online. It's not the 80s anymore!! no more dial-up! no more dial-up! (insert happy dance!)

I am definitely being productive, if losing sleep. LOL

The other side of the magic disappearing act I've been performing the last couple of weeks is that the holidays are upon us and I'm LOVING and thoroughly enjoying making many many gifts for loved ones this holiday season. I've been making the most wickedly awesome crocheted stuffies for the nephews... ooh!!!! I can post pictures now that I'm on high-speed! FANTASTIC!!!!! Okay, but not right this second. I'm keeping you in suspense for now... But there's monkeys, English knights, Trojan warriors, Greek Spartans, Nosferatu, Edna the Elephant who does ballet, another couple of elephants in scarves, a kids' poncho... I think there's more... I'm attempting to get some dishcloths done, a couple of pot scrubbies, a stuffed shark, a sweater, a couple of zombies... so I have quite a bit still to do. We'll see. One project at a time. Plus, there have been Christmas cards to stamp, christmas letters to write, and all of that. Only today did the children and I venture into public to make our first attempt at actual holiday shopping. Between all the gifts the kids and I are making (dd has a special surprise for the holidays!), I'm hoping to keep the cost of purchased gifts down a little (the cost of crafting materials notwithstanding).

So if you're wondering about the lack of posts, it's mostly the hours spent crafting the past couple weeks. I'm loving it; it's a wonderful way to pass chilly fall days, crocheting away in front of the warm woodstove, surrounded by happy children. *BLISS*!

Blessings to you and your loved ones this holiday season; wishing you abundance, joy, and good health in the year ahead!
