good morning! everything here's going well. i'm about 10 days in to this 15 day candida cleanse and it's working very well. the first few days i really needed to drink a LOT of water and it was rather intense; i've cut back since to ~1L a day and it seems alright. i had some major upsettedness yesterday - gas, bloating, cramps... partly from PMS I think and partly the cleanse. hard to tell how much was which. i took some acidophilus in the afternoon which helped immensely, but still i ended up in bed in the evening with a hot water bottle on my tummy.
i'm having 2L or more of green smoothie daily and i'm loving that. getting lots of nutrients in without having to think too hard or plan too much or spend too much time prepping food. keeping it pretty simple that way. (smoothie's not my only intake each day - i'm having other foods - veggies with raw dip, one day i had flax crackers and guacamole, i usually have some fruit (although the cleanse paperwork said to abstain)... after i post this i'm going to go make 2L of smoothie... and i'm going to pick up more frozen berries today - the 4lb box is on sale for $9.99 instead of its regular $19.99!! So I'm hoping to get 10 or more boxes and through them in the freezer.
they're logging within 2 kms of our home right now and you can hear the machines going from early morning 'til evening... even from INSIDE the house (and we have a well-insulated house!). it's insane. you should see the beautiful hillside, all scalped. it's terribly saddening to see. not just for the trees' sake, but for the animals who call that area home. right now i'm listening to the big excavator-looking machine that just goes up to the tree with this MASSIVE swirling saw blade, it just slices it at the stump-level and picks the tree up and turns and drops it. in mere SECONDS trees that have stood for probably 80-100 yrs are down. it's much faster than a chainsaw, and probably less dangerous, presumably needs less manpower, too. one of the other local mamas said last week she's horrified at what they're doing to the area they're logging in and is tempted to go and protest. i don't know what the solution is. i know that imo selective logging is yes, much slower and not as economically bountiful, but definitely the way to go in protecting the land. and it CAN be done. but it seems to be all about the $ for these companies. sighhhhhhhhhh
yesterday morning dd & i made applesauce walnut muffins for her, ds & dh for breakfast and as it made 12, i took 6 (as well as a bag of local org apples, some gingerbread biscotti and some gingerbread cookies from our community party on the weekend) and dropped them off on the doorstep of the neighbours - an unemployed single mom with 4 children. They were still sleeping and later she phoned just to chat and the kids wanted to play and she wasn't too sure where the food had come from but was SOOOOOO grateful for it. I laughed and fessed up (she had an inkling ;) I knew her family would appreciate some goodies at the door. They're really a nice family, our kids get along super well. I'm so happy to have them nearby. :D
this morning i'm off to teach tai chi and then i have a dentist appointment - i'm having one quadrant of mercury fillings removed and changed to amalgam. i am going to take some arnica montana afterwards. each month for the next few months i'm having each quadrant replaced, so four months from now you won't be able to see my fillings anymore!! it's funny because the mercury fillings, of course there's a danger of mercury poisoning as they potentially leach into your body, but someone told me with the amalgam fillings there's a possibility of estrogen mimicking and raising estrogen levels in our bodies... which is not much more pleasant. Their dentist had recommended gold fillings, if you can afford them! LOL i'd have to melt down all my gold jewelry (not that I have much) to have enough to fill my mouth!! And it`s a bit too late now but I think I`ve learned my lesson: FLOSS and BRUSH!!! If only i`d figured that out 20 years ago!!
sending love and healing out into the world with every breathe,
~n~
