Blue Moon

Wow. My sista's friend mentioned that the upcoming full moon falls on New Year's Eve, making it the second full moon this month... hence, it is called a Blue Moon... And I hadn't given it much thought, honestly, but googling it I find all sorts of interesting tidbits about this full moon in particular...

For example, the last time a blue moon occurred on New Year's Eve was in Dec 1990 and won't happen again until 2028? This is the first blue moon NYE in almost 20 yrs, and it won't happen again for nearly another 20 yrs. That in itself makes it fairly significant, quite special, imo.

Also, this blue moon is the end of a decade (also hadn't remembered that)... and in numerology, the date 12-31-2009 comes down to a '9', an number signifying an end of one thing, moving into a rebirth or renewal...

December's full moon is known as the Oak Moon.

Also, this blue moon coincides with a Lunar Eclipse (visible in Europe), and leads us to a New Moon Solar Eclipse on Jan 14th... the lunar eclipse heightens emotional reactions, and psychic sensitivity and instincts are raised.

This blue moon is the 13th full moon in 2009, and being that it occurs on the 31st of the month - see the numbers are reversed? Some might feel there is significance in that...

Someone mentioned, "can you imagine what the full moon is going to do to all the drunken revellers?" lol, hadn't thought of that, but ya, seeing the effect full moons tend to have on the children (and rooster, lmao)... i can imagine it might effect the party-goers... This person went on to suggest an alternate way of ushering in the new year... quietly, gazing at the moon and reflecting upon our lives in a personally meaningful way... lighting a candle, stating our intentions and wishes for prosperity, health, joy, peace, love, compassion and harmony... blowing bubbles to the moon as you soak up its rays. Writing down our goals, and spending time focusing on what we need to bring in to our life, and what we are ready to let go of. Someone on a forum suggested "airing" crystals to soak up the lunar energy.

Someone else writes: "As it is widely known, we tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon. This emotional and sometimes unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electromagnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. There will be some stress as blockages begin to crumble and then there will be a feeling of freedom. As many spiritual figures expect, this is the most important NYE we have ever been gifted in a long time. It asks us to 'flash forward' into the next 2 yrs to see what we can see. No matter how much you do not believe prophecy from time and earth, it will still affect your energy field and your choices."

All of this brought me about to reading up on the 5th dimensional ascension process and the connection to Winter Solstice (dec 21) 2012... ahhhh but I digress....
